The Art Gallery of Ballarat’s collection is one the best in the country and comprises over 11,000 artworks. It is exceptional in breadth and depth.
The Gallery sees the collection as a valuable and vibrant expression of Ballarat’s – and Australia’s – history and of our diverse identity, and looks for ways to display it in new and engaging ways.
The exhibition of the collection in our upstairs galleries uncovers connections between artworks by exploring themes such as Country, Place, Home and Disruption. The collection display is constantly changing as new acquisitions join old favourites in an inspiring hang which aims to inspire visitors to see things from a new perspective.
