THE SONG COMPANY: CRIES OF JUSTICE

From the earliest notation in the Jewish Tanakh three thousand years ago, the Psalms have been the source of personal solace for many and the inspiration for composers from the Renaissance until today. This program, presented by seven singers singing a cappella consists of Psalms by King David, William Byrd, Nicolas Gombert, Sigismondo d’India and Robert White. This repertoire will feature in the 2020 Adelaide Festival so this is a preview for Ballarat audiences. As Australia’s leading professional vocal ensemble, The Song Company is at the forefront of both early music performance and contemporary vocal music and is unique in its stylistic diversity. The Song Company comprises established principal and guest performers and the company is reshaping the professional vocal landscape in Australia for today and the next generation.
