LINDSAY FAMILY: COPLAND FOUNDATION CONSERVATION PROJECT

The Art Gallery of Ballarat holds an outstanding collection of works by members of the Lindsay family, largely acquired through a bequest from Mary Lindsay, sister of Reg, Lionel, Norman, Ruby and Daryl Lindsay, and added to by donations from various members of the Lindsay family and purchases by the Gallery.

In 2019 the Copland Foundation gave the Art Gallery of Ballarat funds to undertake conservation work on the Lindsay works on paper. This nationally significant collection requires significant treatment and could not be conserved and displayed without external funding. This display will showcase a number of works that have been recently conserved plus works that still require conservation.
