School programs at the Gallery are facilitated by experienced educators and aim to build awareness and insight into the possibilities of art. Our education staff work to build visual literacy and an understanding of culture, history and the importance of art in society.
Our Education Program complements and extends classroom learning using the Gallery’s Collection and temporary exhibitions. We offer a range of activities, including tours, talks, trails, practical workshops, role-play and teacher PD programs. With an emphasis on experiential learning, we encourage creativity and critical thinking to give students a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Visual Arts.
The Gallery program is designed for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12 and Tertiary, including English as an Additional Language (EAL) and addresse relevant aspects of the:
- VEYLDF Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework
