Formed in 1987, the Ballarat Symphony Orchestra is a well-established community orchestra with a long and proud history of performance in Ballarat.
Under conductor Gyula Cseszkó, the Orchestra will perform works featuring the three finalists of the BSO’s 2019 Youth Concerto Competition.
- Antonio Vivaldi Violoncello Concerto in C, soloist Lachlan Reid
- WA Mozart Piano Concerto No. 23 in A, soloist Quilby Nelson
Arthur Benjamin Oboe Concerto in C Minor on themes by Cimarosa, soloist Ilija Pantelich
The BSO will also perform works by Marquez and Rossini. A special highlight will be an original composition ‘Into the Storm’ by local young pianist and composer Jack Stacey.
