During the second half of June, the Powell, Ritchie, Oliver and Williamson Galleries upstairs will be closed for upgrading work.
The work will involve the removal of vinyl flooring from the Powell Gallery, and carpet from the Ritchie and Oliver Galleries, and then polishing the concrete floors of all three rooms. This will bring them into line with the adjoining Williamson Gallery.
Work will commence on Monday 12 June, and is expected to last three weeks. During this time, much of the upstairs of the Gallery will be closed to the public. For a short period, there will be no disability access to the second floor.
The polishing of the concrete floors is necessary for practical, financial and aesthetic considerations.
While every effort will be made to minimise noise and disruption, it is likely that the work may affect some visitors’ enjoyment of the Gallery and we apologise for any inconvenience.
